About the event

Get ready to experience a one-of-a-kind musical collaboration that will leave you spellbound. Nicholas Krolak, an accomplished musician and composer, set to release his latest album, "Correspondence," on April 1st, 2023, at Vic's Jazz Loft.

The album is a beautiful result of Krolak's chance encounter with pianist/accordionist Doug Makofka, whom he connected with after purchasing his CD on Krolak's website. The two musicians hit it off and began exchanging ideas, creating a brand-new song called "Correspondence." This beautiful song and the collaboration between the two artists paved the way for a full-length album that promises to be am

azing.

"Correspondence" is not just any album, but a testament to the power of music and collaboration. It features three beautiful songs, including a cover of a composition by a German composer. Krolak's musical prowess and Makofka's stunning musical talent come together to create a unique and memorable listening experience.

The album's release at the Stabin Museum in Jim Thorpe, PA is a fitting location for this beautiful piece of art. The museum's picturesque surroundings and Vic's Jazz Loft will provide the perfect backdrop for Krolak to perform his latest work. Nicholas Krolak, bassist/composer

Terell Stafford: "exciting yet passionate; always telling a story"

Matt Silver WRTI: "a different kind of songwriter—perhaps a different kind of jazz musician altogether … the bass-playing, modern embodiment of Walt Whitman… [using] his music to celebrate and also reconcile the competing and contradictory nature of the two worlds he straddles: the natural and the urban."

Kyle Whiting WXPN: "To Nicholas Krolak, jazz isn't just music to put on in the background during a dinner party, or to be listened to casually at a low-key dive bar. It's a vehicle for empowering, uplifting social justice. Voice = Power, the Philly jazz bassist's latest record, examines this concept thoroughly"

Ben Schachter: "thoughtful, sensitive, and humble" --- "will undoubtedly be a contributor to the music world at large" David Wong: "As a composer he has strong ties to the history of jazz while still sounding original and fresh. There is a wonderful sense of freedom along side clear melodies and strong harmonies."

A.D. Amorosi Jazz Philadelphia: "melding of nature, nurture, jazz, and vibe—the freedom of it all—is exactly the point where Krolak is concerned."
