About the event
Kyra Cioffi is a New York-based vocalist and arranger, blending her inventive interpretation of the Great American Songbook with a horn-like command of harmony and rhythm. A 2026 graduate of the Jazz Vocal Performance undergraduate program at William Paterson University, Kyra has studied under the mentorship of David Wong, Carolyn Leonhart, and Bill Charlap. Through their guidance, Kyra has developed a philosophy that challenges the conventional view of a vocalist as merely a song interpreter, cultivating deep harmonic and rhythmic literacy both on the bandstand and beyond. Kyra is the winner of the 2025 New Jersey Jazz Society Competition, the First Runner-Up of the 2026 International Ella Fitzgerald Vocal Competition, and the featured vocalist with the 2026 Jazz at Aspen Snowmass Big Band led by Christian McBride.
