About the event
Jon Katz is a jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator in the Philadelphia area. Jon has regularly performed original and collaborative jazz projects at Chris' Jazz Café and South Jazz Parlor. Jon also regularly performs in the Philadelphia Latin-jazz circuit, performing with Pablo Batista Latin Jazz Ensemble, Conrad Herwig, and Nestor Torres. Jon had the honor to perform with Grammy Award-winning artists Andy Montanez of El Gran Combo, Willy Torres of the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Tito Puente Jr., and Moncho Rivera. A Temple University graduate who played lead alto in the Temple Jazz Orchestra, Jon received the Downbeat Magazine Student Soloist Award in 2008.
With Dan McCain on bass, Dave Allen on guitar, and Daniel Gonzalez on the drums, this quartet will perform all-new original music and explore uncharted territory in the mind-blowing Vic's Jazz Loft at the Stabin Museum!
